EDUCATION

How will epilepsy affect a child's education?

A child with epilepsy should be treated no differently than any other child in the school and should be encouraged to take part in all activities.

However it is important that teachers understand the child's epilepsy so that the minimum fuss is made if the child has a seizure at school.

The Stafford and District Epilepsy Support Group has a video and a teaching pack to help teachers, and material is also available for your child's school friends so they can understand what is going on. We will be happy to advise and help at any time with any questions you or your child's school may have.
